How much for a website?
How we scope
One of the most frequent requests we get at Melty is, “I’m looking for Melty to build my website. How much will it cost?”
Assuming the website is not an application, meaning that you’re not delivering the service itself through your site, and you’re looking for more of a business website, the best way to get started is for you to send us links to websites that are similar in scope to what you want. With that, we can approximate the size of your project.
After that, we need to understand what work you need Melty to do and what work you plan to do yourself. For example, are you looking for a one-stop shop for branding, design, and development, or do you simply need Melty to do the development?
The fastest way for Melty to get your website up and running is to use a content management system (CMS) like Shopify, Squarespace, Wordpress or Webflow. Together with you, we can select an affordable theme and then customize it to suit your needs.

- • Does the theme you like include the pages you want off-the-shelf?
- • (If Shopify) Shopify or Shopify Plus?
- • Will there be eCommerce integrations, like Salsify or ListingMirror?
- • Will you need maintenance and support post-launch?
- • What financial arrangement do you prefer: flat fee, hourly, or a retainer?
